Union Street Charter School, Third Grade Artists

Pinky's Cafe Murals by Union Street Charter School, Third Grade Artists, are on display at the Arcata Co-op for the month of March.

A reception for the artists will be held Friday, March14 during Arts! Arcata, from 6 to 9 pm. The students created these as the set for their poetry festival last week when Greg Gaiera's third grade classroom was transformed into Open Mike Night at Pinky's Cafe!  Parents were served savory and sweet treats by the student waiters who then turned into performers, dramatically reciting their original poems and other favorites. 

Coffee was donated by Coffee Break Cafe in Sunny Brea for the event. Coffee Break Cafe in Sunny Brae Shopping Center will also be exhibiting art by children from Union Street School during the month of March.
